Sending a message?
The closed garage door. Every neighborhood has them, the neighbor that closes the door IMMEDIATELY after entering. Maybe it's you, the person that although is home all day long still keeps their garage door shut. It drives me crazy, are they purposely sending a message to stay away, we don't want to be bothered? In the winter I can understand it, you don't want snow drifts in the garage, even during the other seasons on a windy day to keep the dirt out. But on a beautiful summer day, let the sun shine in. It won't hurt. The only thing that drives me more nuts are the neighbors that have a driveway full of cars and not one of them is ever parked in the garage. Weigh in, what do you think?

I am a mix...the only reason it's shut at times is for two reasons:
1) I am a paranoid person about strangers and people barging in a stealing us
2) The neighbor dog likes to come in and make herself at home....eating dog food, opening up garbage bags, spilling coffee grounds ALL OVER.
Garage doors are meant to be open when you are pulling in or out taking stuff out or putting it away, not to be left open for no reason. juat kidding. It depends on what the inside of your garage looks like. If its clean organized, leave it open, if its not keep it shut. It also depends on if you have kids who have toys and junk they play with. No kids= shut door, Kids= open door FLOWBEES ROCK
I guess it's a little different for me, because we don't have any neighbors, but I prefer a closed door mainly because I admit I don't have the cleanest garage. Plus it keeps some of the door-to-door salesman away.
If you live out in the sticks you can leave your garage door open and all your doors unlocked without a worry... most of the time. When the husband is gone, this place is locked up like Fort Knox!
I agree that we all have too much stuff if we can't park at least 1 car in the garage!
I like open doors. Garage, house, bathroom, refrig doors all can remain open but why would someone leave their van doors open all the time?
good point Fig, some idiots I know ALWAYS leave their van doors open
they are just asking for trouble.
BTW, we have a 2 stall garage and can barely slither our van in. What gives?
We keep ours shut for two reasons.
First is that we have had some theft-- not in Michigan, but still. Someone thought they were stealing Josh's drill, but he had been using it out back so all they got was the box. Still freaked me out that people were that close to my unlocked door...
Second is the cleanliness. I would not feel right giving my diapers the good heave ho out the door if someone was going to actually walk up to that door!
I stopped by your house yeasterday and you were gone and the garage door was open??
Why do Braaad and now Stacey refer to each other as "the Husband", or The Wife" ?
just wondering
Minime, you chuck you diapers out the door? Do you have a baskeball hoop outside your door with a garbage pail under it? What a great get rich quick idea. "Huggie-Hoops"
I'd like to hear RP's take on this issue.
To: The Brother - because her mom doesn't like it when I call her chick. Apparently this is nicer
I can see the product that will put Kayden through School. Huggie Hoops. Great idea Fig. We better get a patent out on that before Minime mom does
oh and I agree with Chelle, I always like RP's takes. He's a wise man
Thanks, for the update Braaaad,
Way to listen to the mother in law
RP says clean the garage, that's all I know
Hey, give RP a break. He's been to Alaska, and it takes him a few days to release the electronic security measures, lock up the dobermans, and get all the pad-locks off just to get the car back in. It may be a while before he weighs in. (especially since he ate so much on the cruise)
Actually, it is laziness more than anything. We do not use our diaper pail anymore because it stinks the whole room up. Better to let our guests walk through it as they enter our house as to not have any illusions of cleanliness.
No bad, Fig. I like it a lot.
RP leaves Garage door open when home. His Garage is orderly & clean (most of the time). Once in awhile I do shut it, when the dumb birds are around and attack us.
Some times the door won't shut anyhow if the sun is shinning on the safety sensor. Then I have to have someone stand by the door to get their shadow to cover the sensor. CB is a master at that.
