Fashion

I don't know if it's because I am over 30 or because it wasn't that long ago that I was wearing maternity clothes, but there is a new fashion trend that I just can't get myself to buy. I like the new longer shorts and the many lengths of the capris, I like the flowy skirts and dresses. But I just can't get myself to buy a "baby doll" style shirt. You know the ones that have an empire waist and are looser on the bottom, like a maternity shirt. Maybe I am afraid somebody might mistake me for being pregnant, or maybe it's my age but I just can't do it. My niece who just had a baby thinks these shirts are cute and don't look like maternity clothes. Again maybe it's my age, what do you other mothers out there think?

I wear them, but I agree that I usually feel heavy when I do:-)

I am sure you would look cute in one.

I wish Ross would have been wearing one at Cheryls 80's party. His shirt was too revealing.

I steer away from them, due to the pregnancy rumors that seem to follow the wearing of baby-doll tops. I remember this trend in the 90s too, I had a babydoll dress and looked like a pregnant teen.

It's no good. IMHO

Looks pregnant or hiding fat.

I made a high waist style jumper that was the height of fashion when Tami was about four years old. Wore it once.
Someone asked me when I was due.
Gave that thing to the mission!!!!

I have two that I can think of of...I was worried at first about the preggers look, but since the world knows Brent has had a snip-snip here and there, it's all good!

Women's fashions are designed by women, for women, so women think they are cute,
men never get consulted
(how many times doesn't another woman come up and say "that is so cute", a man never says or even thinks that, cause he is thinking "that is the most hideous thing I have ever seen"), but women buy them so other women tell them it's "cute"
That's my take, listen to male perspective, stay away if it makes you look pregnant or fat

I need in on this. I am an expert on womens clothes. Pick out 2 or 3 outfits that your husband likes and wear them all the time. If a women says the clothes are "cute on you, but I could never wear that" that means it is really pretty ugly and she would not get caught dead in that outfit. It is the same for short hair. (you knew I would get around to that) Cute, short hair is like saying: admit it you look like a guy, the hair dresser talked you into it, this should get my husband ticked off, what was I thinking, she says it is cute on me but I know Fig will not like it. I think I will grow it out this summer. I will have a chapter in my book about the mental damage hair cuts can cause. Whew, don't get me started. No wonder it is a state law that women may not get their hair cut without their husbands permission.

I never knew Fig was such a genius with words!

I think I have been told "that looks cute--on you, but I couldn't wear it" a time or two before! What they think it's ugly???

Ah, this is the worst lookin' hat I ever saw! I bet you buy a hat like this you get a free bowl of soup, huh? Oh it looks good on you, though.

As to the baby dolls, it depends on the fabric...but, I am with fig...if your friends says it is cute but she could never wear it...she means she WOULD never wear it and you look stupid.
I have to add...capris don't look good on ANYONE! Just because it is a fad doesn't mean it should be worn. For goodness sakes, use common sense and the decision making abilites the good Lord gave you...do you want pants or shorts?

oh Brad, you "fan of Fig" you.

Atta-boy Fan of Fig. I like the idea of having my own fan club. Join the FFC (Fig Fan Club) now and enjoy the great experiences that he does.

I cannot lay claim to the "Fan of Fig" but I sure do like his thinking. I'd sign my name to that!

I'll take the "make a decision" one step further now that your girls have those frickin' knee lenght "shorts". C'MON!!! Either wear shorts or pants. How can "shorts" now have basically 3 different lenghts - Shorts, "Knee Shorts" and (stupid) Capri?

Not all of us can wear short shorts... Brad!

Knee shorts RULE!

Capris are ugly! (clam diggers, peddle pushers, knee shorts).
As Braaad and Fig said (and they are part of us, since we are "all men") Shorts or long pants, make up your mind.
Hear is a capri cheer

"Capris are UGLY,
U, G, L, Y,
they ain't got no alibi,
they're UGLY!"

Some of us are tall and pants aren't long enough and become capris, knee shorts, or whatever name you prefer.

hey "all men"

you cannot tell me that you prefer short shorts that show all the flab, rolls, and cottage cheese that all women have at least a little of.

capris and knee shorts hide a little of that stuff we would rather not bear to the world.

all the exercise in the world can't make a perfect body. I find knee shorts more flattering than short shorts I don't care what you say.
